A QR code on your business card
A business card holds a few lines. A QR code on it leads to a link page gathering your site, your portfolio, your booking link, your profiles and your email. The card is printed once; the page changes whenever your job title, your number or your calendar does.
Free, no credit card.
Adding a QR code to your card
- Build a link page holding what a card cannot carry: your site, your portfolio, a booking link, your LinkedIn profile, your email and a direct number.
- Generate that page’s QR code with Generate a QR code, pick no logo, the TinyLink logo or one of your own templates, then download the file.
- Print a single proof card, scan it with two different phones, check that the page opens, and only then release the full run to your printer.
A code in your colours, not plain black
A black-and-white code sits badly on a carefully designed card. A QR code template stores a name, a description, the background colour, the module colour, the module shape — squares, rounded or dots — and an optional logo. Nothing else: no margin, no error correction level. The template then applies to every code you generate. It comes with the Pro plan.
The card is fixed, the page is not
You change jobs, numbers, agencies. Cards you handed out stay in wallets and drawers for years. If they carry a code pointing at your page, they stay accurate: correct the job title, swap the calendar link, add the latest project. The statistics also tell you how many cards were scanned, and when. None of it needs a reprint.

Frequently asked questions
What should a business card QR code link to?
A page holding everything the card cannot carry: site, portfolio, booking link, LinkedIn, email, direct number. A QR code pointing at your website alone also works, but you lose the rest.
Will the code still work once the cards are printed?
On the free plan, no: the QR code stops redirecting seven days after the item is created. From the Starter plan onwards it is permanent. Settle that before ordering a print run of cards.
How big should the QR code be on a card?
Around two centimetres across suits a code read at arm’s length. The quiet margin around it — four modules — and the H error correction level are fixed by the engine. Print one card and scan it before approving the proof.
Do I need SVG for the printer?
The 2048-pixel PNG at 300 dpi is enough for a business card. SVG is vector, stays sharp at any size and matters mostly for large formats; it comes with the Pro plan, set out on the pricing page.
